Speech shirt in pink lettering with phonetic alphabet. This unisex pure cotton t-shirt is a great speech therapist’s shirt or for a speech language pathologist, a language gift or just for those who celebrate speech and the freedom it can give.
My mother was born with a cleft palate and had a speech impediment her whole life, which I witnessed as a barrier for her. The doctor told my grandmother my mother, then an infant, would never speak, but my grandmother refused to believe it. She bought and borrowed speech pathology books, this is in the late 1930’s- early 1940’s, and taught my mum how to speak herself. Pretty impressive for a woman who wasn’t allowed to go to school after grade 6. I now have some of those books. Unfortunately she was very strict on my mum, who was also undiagnosed on the autism spectrum. I have started to write about the experience of neuro-divergence in my family at my blog, botanicmystic.com if you are interested.
The t-shirt fits diverse body types, and is available in black, navy, white, athletic heather and a darker purple. This shirt is soft and stretchy and lovely to wear. Please check size charts in the photos before ordering as each shirt is custom printed.
